Philodendron Neon Selloum – Picture shows in a 6″ nursery pot
Light: Bright Indirect
Water: 2- 3 Weeks
Humidity: Medium – High
Pet Friendly: No
Philodendron neon selloum thrives in bright indirect light. You can also easily grow them in low to medium light. However, the growth of the plant will be slower and watering will be less frequent. Please let the top 3″ of the soil get dry between watering. The watering is somewhat between 15 – 21 days as every house is different in terms of heat, humidity, and light. It is highly recommended to use room temperature water to water your plants as we do not want to shock the roots with hot or cold water. Philodendrons are tropical plants and love high humidity. A regular misting will make the plant very happy and healthy.
The Philodendron neon selloum is a very popular houseplant because of the beautiful variegation of the leaves. If you are drawn to collecting bright-leaved plants, you will enjoy growing this plant. With the proper growing condition and care, this is a fairly easy houseplant to successfully grow indoors. Bright indirect light will help to retain the variegation.
Philodendron is a large genus of flowering plants in the family Araceae. This is the second-largest member of the family Araceae, after the genus Anthurium. Many are grown as ornamental and indoor plants. The name derives from the Greek words Philo- or “love, affection” and dendron or “tree”. Around the world, many growers widely cultivate a range of hybrids and cultivars. To learn more about philodendrons, please click here.
