Philodendron Pink Princess – Picture shows in a 4″ nursery pot
Light: Bright Indirect
Water: 10 – 15 Days
Pet Friendly: No
Philodendron pink princess thrives in bright indirect light. You can also easily grow them in medium light. However, the growth of the plant will be slower and watering will be less frequent. Bright light will encourage retaining the variegation on the leaves. Please let the top 2″ of the soil get dry between watering. The watering is somewhat between 10 – 15 days as every house is different in terms of heat, humidity, and light. It is highly recommended to use room temperature water to water your plants as we do not want to shock the roots with hot or cold water. Philodendrons are tropical plants and love high humidity. A regular misting will make the plant very happy and healthy.
The Philodendron pink princess is a very popular houseplant because of the striking pink variegation of the leaves. If you are drawn to collecting rare and uncommon plants, you will enjoy growing this plant. The variety is a hybrid philodendron. With the proper growing condition and care, this is a fairly easy houseplant to successfully grow indoors. Bright indirect light will help to retain the variegation. This plant grows very well with the support of a moss pole.
Philodendron is a large genus of flowering plants in the family Araceae. This is the second-largest member of the family Araceae, after the genus Anthurium. Many are grown as ornamental and indoor plants. The name derives from the Greek words Philo- or “love, affection” and dendron or “tree”. Around the world, many growers widely cultivate a range of hybrids and cultivars. To learn more about philodendrons, please click here.
